LAHORE: A doctor holding a fake degree has been working at Lahore’s General Hospital for six-years with the connivance of the hospital administration, it has been revealed.
Revealing the state of affairs in the health department Lahore, sources disclosed that Assistant Operation Theatre Mudassar Habib’s diploma had been proved illegal, however, due to the incompetence of the administration Mudassar is still working in the government’s flagship tertiary care hospital in the provincial metropolis.
Mudassar Habib was appointed from 9th Grade but received an illegal promotion to 16th Grade. Sources further revealed that the Punjab Medical Faculty (PMC) has also confirmed that the Mudassar Habib’s diploma was bogus. PMC has confirmed the fake diploma by writing a letter to MS General Hospital.
In this regard when the Medical Superintendent of the hospital was contacted, he replied that he has been severing in the hospital for two months and suggested taking up the issues with previous authorities.
“What can I do if human lives are in danger?” The process is being completed from higher authorities,” the superintendent said. According to sources diplomas of dozens of employees including Operation Theatre Assistant Nadeem Javed, Safdar Ali and Assistant Mumtaz Ali are also bogus.
Sources maintained that several doctors in Lahore hold fake degrees while there is no check on the private clinics and laboratories across the province and fake doctors are playing havoc with the lives of people.
