ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has condemned India for the systematic tactic of a mass propaganda campaign to malign Pakistan’s image internationally.

Addressing a news conference alongside Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Security Moeed Yusuf, the foreign minister said the recent report of EU DisinfoLab titled ‘Indian Chronicles’ has exposed India for maligning Pakistan’s identity.

He called upon the United Nations and the European Union to take notice of and initiate a probe into the massive disinformation and propaganda campaign.

The foreign minister said all such reports are vindication for Pakistan and have substantiated its position in front of the international community. He said the expose of the Indian disinformation campaign demands global attention. He said India is involved in maligning Pakistan’s image through fake news spread by its fake agencies being operated in 116 countries.

The report had uncovered a vast network of 265 coordinated fake local media outlets in 65 countries serving Indian interests, as well as multiple dubious think tanks and NGOs. In a new investigation, titledIndian Chronicles, the group exposed another Indian network that aims to reinforce pro-Indian and anti-Pakistan sentiments in India.

The foreign minister said the Indian network is working to consolidate power and improve the image of India and damage the reputation of rival countries so that ultimately India may benefit from more support from world community. He called upon the international community to take note of such steps by the Indian regime.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister’s National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf said these Indian actions involve criminality and breach of international law that should be raised at international level.

He said Pakistan will pursue proactive policy and we will convey our narrative and stance to every possible forum. He said Pakistan’s paradigm is based on economic security and peace He said India is pursuing the agenda to hinder Pakistan’s development but warned that all such hybrid war tactics will be foiled.

Both Qureshi and Yusuf insisted that the report was vindicated Pakistan’s consistent stance on Indian sponsored terrorism and it will be portrayed with renewed vigour on international forums.
