RAWALPINDI: Amidst all difficulties due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, a blood collection camp was organized by Pakistan Sweet Homes at District Bar Association Rawalpindi for thalassemia patients.
Brigadier Nuzhat of AFIC, District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Tariq Javed, Senior Civil Judge Shahid Awan and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Capt (retd) Anwar-ul-Haq visited the camp.
Speaking on the occasion of her visit to the Blood Bank, Brigadier Nazhat said, “We are grateful to the president of Pakistan Sweet Homes Zamrud Khan. The step taken is commendable,” she added.
With the efforts of Zamrud Khan, a blood drive was launched to meet the needs of the patients. “We are with him in this endeavor,” Nazhat said.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Anwar-ul-Haq said that humanity can be saved by setting up blood camps. “Saving a person’s life is the best course of action,” he added.
“This donation campus has been launched for thalassemia patients, particularly children who are in dire need of blood transfusions during this ongoing worldwide COVID-19 crisis,” he added.
Zamrud Khan, head of Pakistan Sweet Homes, said the camps were set up in all four provinces of Pakistan. He said, “All citizens should help us in this good deed and support us in this campaign to safe humanity”.
It is also worth mentioning here that the donors’ hemoglobin levels and blood pressure were also measured on the day of the camp.
The donors’ blood screening reports regarding malarial parasites, hepatitis B and C, and VDRL were also provided free of cost.
