KARACHI: Sindh Secretary Local Government Board Zameer Abbasi has said that the government would not allow anyone to play with the lives of citizens and strict action would be taken against corrupt officers involved in illegal activities.
Zameer Abbasi said that the mafia in the local bodies has suffered due to the steps taken by the Sindh Local Government Board. “After the mobilization of the Sindh Local Government Board for the last three months, its orders and measures are being criticized which are considered illegal by the corrupt local government employees,” he added.
Zameer Abbasi said due to the mobilization of the Sindh Local Government Board the monopoly of the officers also come to an end.
For the past one month, the Secretary Sindh Local Government Board along with honest officials have under criticism by some media representatives and mafia.
In this regard, Secretary Local Government Board said, “The Board and officials are working within its jurisdiction. And the board has the power to investigate fraudulent appointments, promotions, or corruption from any employee”.
He said the board was also taking stern action against SBCA officers and officials involved in allowing illegal constructions. Abbasi said the people should also cooperate with the government by highlighting illegal activities of officials, adding that said if any official of the department was found involved in assisting any illegal activity at any level in the future, he would be severely punished.
