LAHORE: Upto 600 Sikh pilgrims have arrived in Pakistan from India to celebrate the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.
A group of 602 Indian Sikh pilgrims led by Amarjeet Singh, a member Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) arrived at Wagah border.
The officials of the Punjab Health Department checked all passengers with thermal fever guns and also observed their negative reports of COVID-19 tests which they were carrying with them.
After immigration and Customs formalities, the delegates set off from the Wagah border and proceeded to Gurdwara Janamasthan Nankana Sahib by buses arranged by ETPB at 5.50 pm. The Sikh pilgrims have also brought a Palki for Guru Granth Sahib from India to place it in the Gurdwara.
Sikh pilgrims from across the country, including India, attended the event. At the ceremony, the Sikh community offered special prayers for the development and peace of Pakistan.

Earlier, various departments including Rescue, Health, Civil Defense, Abandoned Waqf Property Board and Police have made all arrangements for the 551st birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak, the spiritual leader of the Sikh religion.
Sikh pilgrims from all over the world, including the United States, Australia, Germany, Canada, and India, are performing their religious rites at Baba Guru Nanak’s birthday celebrations.
