ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has said that if India has any reservations in the Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav case, it can approach the court.
The Islamabad High Court heard the government’s request to provide a lawyer to Kulbhushan Yadav. CJ IHC Athar Minallah questioned whether an attempt had been made to remove the reservations of the Indian embassy.
The attorney general took the position that India was deliberately refusing to be a part of the court proceedings, to which the Chief Justice remarked that we need assistance in implementing the decision of the International Court of Justice.
The attorney general said that India could be part of the proceedings through a lawyer, while India said it was against our sovereignty if we submitted a power of attorney.

The Chief Justice remarked that if India has any reservations, it can approach this court. The attorney general said that if India wanted consular access for the third time, ‘Pakistan was ready to grant it,’ he said.
The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court asked the lawyer of the Indian High Commission how much time do you need to take instructions? Asked for time to take instructions, the Indian High Commission lawyer said, “Give me a week and I will take instructions.”
Chief Justice Athar Minallah while talking to the lawyer of the Indian High Commission said that you have been given two weeks’ time and during that time you should also inform India about consular access. After which the court adjourned the hearing of the case till December.
