ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Wednesday) has congratulated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on Pakistan’s re-election to the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC), saying that they will continue exposing human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
The Prime Minister took to Twitter and said, “We remain committed to upholding human rights for all, prioritizing advancement of tolerance & constructive engagement. We stand resolute against Islamophobia & in support of mutual respect.”

“Pakistan will continue efforts towards consensus building and ensuring HRC’s work is guided by principles of universality, impartiality, dialogue & cooperation,” said the premier in another tweet.
PM Imran further said that Pakistan would continue exposing human rights violations committed with impunity by the Indian occupation forces in Indian illegally occupied Kashmir (IIOK).

Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan was re-elected to the UN HRC for a period of three years with an overwhelming majority despite Indian opposition. The 193-member UN General Assembly held elections for 15 new members to the 47-member Human Rights Council.
“Pakistan’s success in this important election is a reflection of the country’s high standing in the international community,” an elated Pakistani Ambassador Munir Akram said in a post-election statement.
