KARACHI: Police have nabbed an inter-provincial drug smuggler and recovered more than 400 grams of hashish from his possession on Wednesday.
According to sources, head constable Muhammad Javed along with the police mobile team was engaged in checking vehicles at Lucky Chowrangi check post area of Karachi.
Sources further said during the checking of a suspicious car number AZX-150 coming from Hub city the police found more than 400-kilogram special quality hashish from the car.
The driver identified as Manan son of Muhammad Hussain was also apprehended. Police also claimed to have recovered different types of drugs, including 400 grams of hashish.
Initial interrogation revealed that the accused was absconding in murder case No. 538/19 Section 302, 324, 34 registered in Darakhshan police station. It may be recalled that this is the third major operation of Mochko police against drug suppliers during the current month.
On Tuesday, Police had claimed to arrested three men for allegedly supplying drugs to college students in different areas of the metropolis.
According to police sources, on a tip-off, a police team conducted a targeted raid in Malir’s Jaffer-e-Tayar Society and arrested three drug peddlers.
Police sources said during the initial interrogation, the accused confessed to supplying drugs to the students.
