ISLAMABAD: Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar has said that wedding halls and restaurants are becoming major centres for the spread of the coronavirus.
A meeting of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) was held under the chairmanship of the federal minister. The NCOC was briefed on the spread of the virus across the country. It was said in the briefing given to the meeting that due to the non-implementation of social distance, the coronavirus is spreading again.
Asad Umar said that measures are very important to prevent the spread of diseases and the use of masks is the most important in preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
He said that the implementation of coronavirus SOPS could prevent the spread of the virus in winter. “Wedding halls and restaurants are becoming major centers of Corona expansion,” the minister maintained.
Educational institutions were commended by the NCOC for implementing coronavirus SOPs. It may be recalled that on Monday, at least four people died in Pakistan due to coronavirus.

According to the National Command and Operations Center, 644 new cases of the coronavirus were reported across the country and the total number of affected people has reached 315,260.
During the last 24 hours, 375 coronavirus patients recovered and the total number of cured people was 298,968. The number of active cases in the country is 9,135.
The number of corona cases in Islamabad has reached 16,766. 99,812 cases have been reported in Punjab, 138,050 in Sindh, 37,973 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,371 in Balochistan, 3,828 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 2,816 in Azad Kashmir.
