ISLAMABAD: Illegal constructions continue unabated in the constituency of senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar.
Asad Umar was elected from NA-54 constituency in Islamabad. The area has become the hub of illegal constructions while even stormwater drains have been occupied and houses have been constructed along with them.
Local authorities have been unable to take any action against the builder mafia which has gained influence in the area and has started occupying plots, houses, and other public properties.
Area residents have complained that Asad Umar has not visited the area since being elected from the constituency. They claimed that the builder mafia threatens them when they lodge any complaints.
The residents said the area has become the hub of illegal constructions. They alleged that police have been patronising the builder mafia and are hesitant in taking action. They urged to take strict action and demolish all illegal structures and constructions in the area.
