ISLAMABAD: Religious scholar Tahir Ashrafi has been appointed as Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony.
According to a notification issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has been appointed as a special representative to the PM with immediate effect and his appointment shall be in an honorary capacity.
It is worth mentioning here that Tahir Ashrafi had served as an advisor to the president of Pakistan for the interior and affairs of the Islamic world.
He was the chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) and serves as the president of Wafaqul Masajid Pakistan. He is also a member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.
