ISLAMABAD: Nadeem Haider, a disabled person working in Capital Development Authority (CDA), promoted on the orders of a local court in Islamabad, after waiting for promotion for almost 12 years.
According to details, the victim lost both his legs in a bomb blast while performing his duties. He was supposed to be legally promoted but the then director did not promote him on the basis of personal obstinacy.
In this regard, Nadeem Haider filed a case for promotion in the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) and was appearing in court for the past 4 years.
Meanwhile, CDA Trade Union Secretary General Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin took up the case and appealed to the concerned authorities to promote the disabled man as he had the right to be promoted.
According to the CDA rules and regulations, a disabled person can also be promoted under the disability quota. In today’s (Tuesday) hearing, the local court ordered the development authority to promote the victim with immediate effect.
Shortly, CDA’s Director HR issued a promotion letter to disabled person Nadeem Haider, on which he thanked General Secretary of CDA Trade Union Chaudhry Yaseen and senior officials of CDA.
