RAWALPINDI: Local leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have expressed concerns over the rising crime rates and state of lawlessness in the country.
In an exclusive conversation with MM News, PPP leader and former federal minister Sardar Saleem Haider and Divisional Deputy Secretary Raja Nazeer said the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has failed to control the situation.
The decried that the conditions in the country had worsened, women are minor children were being raped, and the police have failed miserably. PPP leader Sardar Saleem said the government has failed to fulfill its promises and provide any sort of relief to the people.
“There is chaos and anarchy everywhere. Hunger and disparity has surged. No one is there to hear the poor. People are getting frustrated by unemployment and committing suicides. Prices have increased and people are worried. Lawlessness is at its peak,” he said.
The PPP leaders strongly criticised the government calling it a “pack of incompetents” and slammed the working of ministers. They deplored that no megaproject has commenced yet despite the passage of over two years.
“The government only makes huge claims. We have never demanded an NRO. Imran Khan is not capable of giving an NRO. Those who could have gavin it to Nawaz Sharif and he has left the country,” said the PPP leader.
He said crime rates have risen in Rawalpindi and Islamabad forcing the United States to issue a travel advisory warning from visiting several parts of the federal capital. He said the situation has worsened and the government should fulfill its responsibilities.
He said the government’s performance will be seen in the next local bodies elections. He said the people were dismayed over the government and the situation will worsen in the next three years.
