RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Homoeopathic Medical Association (PHMA) has urged the government to pay attention on herbal medicines as the natural herbs were helpful in curing several diseases.
Chairman of the Islamic Homoeopathic Medical Association Dr Mian Jamil and Dr. Abdul Qaddos Awan while talking to MM News said that homoeopathic remedies are increasing rapidly and people now prefer homoeopathic remedies instead of allopathic remedies.
They said Islamic Homoeopathic Medical Association, is organizing free medical camps all over Pakistan to provide free medicine to poor segment of the society.
Dr Mian Jamil said, “The government is not patronizing us, there are many poor people who do not have money to get treatment, and however, we treat such poor people for free and provide them with all the facilities”, he added.
He said the ancient homeopathic mode of medicine is an effective healthcare system, which is gaining popularity at the international level. “The homeopathic treatment is beneficial for every patient, which focuses on eliminating the disease from its roots,” Jamil said.
Dr Qaddos said that the successive governments had not given due recognition to homeopathy, which stopped it from highlighting its importance at the national and international levels.
He said that there was a need to work on three aspects of the homoeopathic way of treatment i.e. quality control, diagnostics and clinical trials.
They urged the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) to prescribe guidelines for the practice of homeopathy mode of treatment.
