ISLAMABAD: Organization of Islamic Youth Pakistan staged a protest outside the National Press Club Islamabad against controversial agreements by the Gulf states of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to normalize their relations with Israel.
According to details, the protests come after the signing ceremony of the US-sponsored agreements at the White House later Tuesday. Several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leaders along with students of Islamic Youth Organization International, participated in the protest.
The protestors waved banners rejecting any normalization with Israeli occupation authorities. “These agreements will not bring stability to the Arab regimes that rush towards the normalization,” they said.
“These two countries have taken a wrong step. We will not support the move under any circumstances. The OIC should take strong action against UAE and Bahrain,” the protestors added.
The protestors further said that such agreements do not serve the Palestinian cause and ignore their rights. They also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestinian. “These two countries have stabbed Muslims in the back, which is less to be condemned,” they concluded.
