ISLAMABAD: Illegal construction continued in the federal capital with the alleged patronage of Capital Development Authority (CDA) being complacent.
According to details, an official of the development authority received a huge amount of bribe and build an illegal shop on the main street.
The land mafia in Islamabad’s Sector G-7, with the connivance of CDA involvement, has broken the stairs of a petrol pump and illegally built a shop at the main street. Relevant sources have informed that the CDA official had received millions of rupees in this regard and allowed the land mafia to build a shop.
The Enforcement Directorate of the CDA has been unable to act on directives to stop the illegal constructions which have mushroomed across the city.
The residents of the area have appealed to the concerned authorities to immediately remove the illegal shop and an inquiry should be held against the corrupt CDA inspector.
Earlier in August, it has been revealed that continuous illegal construction, occupation, and encroachment by the land mafia were underway in the federal capital.
Despite Capital Development Authority Survey of Pakistan and other agencies actions against encroachment and occupation of forest lands by forest mafia at Islamabad’s zones mainly 1 to 4, Margalla Hill, National Park, Nala Korang, and Malika-e-Kohsar, no action has been taken against the occupiers of Margalla Hill, National Park Capital Development Authority and Punjab Forest Department land.
