ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has arrived in Karachi on Saturday afternoon for a day-long visit.
A special aircraft arrived at PAF Faisal Base where he was received by Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The prime minister will chair an important meeting at Governor House and will address a press conference where he will announce a multi-billion relief package.
PM Imran Khan will embark on a helicopter for an aerial view of various rain-affected areas of the city. He will be briefed on the recent rains that devastated Karachi and left much of the city flooded and without power.
He is also expected to announce the eagerly-awaited ‘Karachi Transformation Plan’ relief package worth at estimated Rs802 billion. He will also meet members of the business community along with several political leaders, party members and allies.

Taking to Twitter, the federal minister said that development work in Karachi would be carried out with the collaboration the federal and the provincial government of Sindh.
“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and Pakistan People’s Party (PP) led Sindh government will work for the betterment of Karachi by setting aside their political differences,” he added.
The planning minister said development work would be carried out in other cities of Sindh also.
