KARACHI: Renowned social media influencer Waqar Zaka has announced to contest the local body elections for the sake of the betterment of Karachi.
On his YouTube channel, Waqar Zaka while announcing the election said that if the situation in Karachi is to be changed, then the people of Karachi will have to contest the election and understand the constitution.
“I need people who think they can run their city. I want new people from all over Sindh, but the condition is that those who want to fight me should not belong to any party,” Waqar Zaka remarked.
The renowned social media influencer proposed that to avoid flooded streets and overflowing Nullahs, Sponge City development is the utmost and only solution. He also announced to launch a political movement (Technology Movement Pakistan) in order to fight for the rights of Karachi.
He also criticized the concerned authorities and said that the developers flouted building regulations and ignored the need for proper drainage systems, for the sake of profits. “Cities should be built like sponges to soak up 70 percent of rainwater,” he added.
“I will fight for my city, I will raise voice against every incompetent department to solve every problem of this city in a constitutional and legal way but I will not let the people get upset,” he concluded.
