LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders criticized the incumbent government over its unparalleled propaganda and said that the PTI government is the worst in history.
Addressing a press conference today (Monday) along with Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Miftah Ismail, Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that the incumbent government neither knows governance nor concerned about the public issues.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that in the past two years, the rising inflation has brought people to the brink of disaster. “For the first time in the history of Pakistan, there was a shortage of wheat even before the harvest season ended,” he added.
He also pointed out the increasing prices of oil and electricity. “The government’s worst incompetence has led to load-shedding of electricity as well,” he remarked.
Commenting on the GDP growth, he said that for the second time in history, GDP growth was negative. “The first one was in 1952. There is nothing but misery and hardship under the PTI government.”
Referring to the corruption allegations on PML-N, he said that the government was spreading unparalleled propaganda against his party. “To date, not a single penny’s worth of corruption has been proven,” he claimed.
“There was historic development work in Pakistan under Nawaz Sharif. There is no parallel to these development projects in the country’s history,” he asserted.
On the occasion, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi pointed out that in PML-N’s tenure the circular debt rose by Rs1,026 billion. “Today, it is Rs2,200 billion, meaning that it shot up by Rs1,200 billion in two years,” he informed.
Former foreign minister, Asif Khawaja claimed that all the foreign policy successes Pakistan achieved in the PML-N tenure have been ruined. “Pakistan could have improved relations with Iran and Afghanistan but the PTI government did not do so,” he added.
