ISLAMABAD: Opposition today (Tuesday) has strongly criticized the PTI-led federal government’s performance in its two years of power, shortly after Cabinet’s press conference in which it highlighted government’s two-year performance.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto took to Twitter and slammed Prime Minister Imran Khan and said, “PM Imran has given us the worst economy in our country’s history.”
Bilawal further criticized Prime Minister for country’s democracy and human rights suffering and said that unemployment was at an all-time high. “Transparency International has said corruption is higher than before,” he added.

2 years in power & @ImranKhanPTI has given us the worst economy in our country’s history, foreign policy failures from Kashmir to Saudi, democracy & human rights suffering , unemployment at an all time high, transparency international has said corruPTIon is higher than before.

Meanwhile, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif has termed the PTI government’s two years’ power an ‘unmitigated disaster’. “From foreign policy to economy to governance, Imran Khan’s mismanagement of national affairs has increased the woes of the masses manifold,” he added.

2 years of PTI government have been an unmitigated disaster. From foreign policy to economy to governance, IK’s mismanagement of national affairs has increased the woes of the masses manifold. People continue to pay heavy price for this failed experiment in political engineering.

The Opposition leader in National Assembly further said that the people of Pakistan continue to pay heavy prices for this failed experiment in political engineering.
In another tweet, he said, “In two years of PTI government: GDP growth rate registered a massive decline from +5.8% in 2018 to -0.45% in 2020, rendering millions of people jobless and pushing many more below the poverty line. Prices of sugar, wheat and medicines almost doubled. Per capita income went down steeply.”

He pointed out that the incumbent government’s failure in critical areas of foreign policy could not be starker. “Work on CPEC was slowed down for a year. Relationship with key allies such as Saudi Arabia was subjected to controversy,” he added.
Talking to journalists, PPP Information Secretary Nafisa Shah slammed the PTI government for the increasing inflation and national debt. She said, “I challenge PTI to tell the people how much one child indebted to the IMF was,” she added.
“There has been a 102 percent increase in wheat prices from when we were in government and 70-80pc increase in sugar prices. The price of oil in our government was 40pc less than it is today,” she asserted.
Earlier today (Tuesday), federal ministers Asad Umar, Hammad Azhar, Shibli Faraz and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in a press briefing, highlighted the PTI government’s achievements over the past two years.
