PESHAWAR: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has vowed to continue the fight against PTI-led federal government, what he termed a dictatorial regime.
Addressing a ceremony in Peshawar today (Sunday), the JUI-F chief informed that his party was determined to establish the supremacy of the law and Constitution in the country.
He further said, “We have been fighting against dictatorial attitudes and will continue to fight against them,” adding that national interests should be put before party interests.
“Pakistan cannot survive until these incompetent leaders are in power. Pakistan can no longer function under the incumbent government,” the JUI-F chief added.
He also criticized the federal government for its ineffective policies regarding the Kashmir conflict. In this regard, he said, “What we have done for Kashmiris for over seven decades for their rights?”
“Yesterday, we were thinking about how to take Srinagar, and today we are thinking about how to save Muzaffarabad,” Fazlur Rehman remarked.
He said that Independence Day should not be limited to celebrations alone. “The nation should feel freedom. The youth should be able to differentiate between the days after independence and the time during British rule,” he added.
Maulana asserted that the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will continue to work to uphold Islamic principles in the country. “We have fallen out of favour with the world just because we insist on upholding Islamic principles,” he concluded.
