ISLAMABAD: On the occasion of Independence Day, a graceful and simple flag hoisting ceremony was held in Islamabad High Court to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah and the other honourable judges and lawyers attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Justice said that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan came into existence after a long drawn struggle led by the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He reaffirmed commitment to the ideas and visions of the founders of the country.
The representatives of the Chief Justice, presidents of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association and District Bar Association along with three support staff members of the IHC hoisted the national flag in during the ceremony on Independence Day.
The Chief Justice and the judges made planted a tree as part of the tree plantation campaign launched by the prime minister as the adverse impacts and challenges of climate change have become a reality.
They planted trees as commemoration of the Independence Day. Each employee of IHC also planted one plant each and also took responsibility for their care and nurture.
The ceremony was also attended by the District and Sessions Judges, Members of Islamabad Bar Council, Representatives of Islamabad High Court Bar Association and Islamabad District Bar Association, Advocate General, additional Attorney Generals and Deputy Attorney Generals, Senior Advocates, Officers and Staff of the Islamabad High Court.
