ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Muhammad Afzal has said that relief operations will be carried out in the light of court orders.
The NDMA said in a statement that over the past four months, Pak-China friendship has been further strengthened and cooperation with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan has increased in every meeting. The friendship between both countries is sweeter and deeper.
He said that China’s cooperation in the situation of coronavirus is unforgettable while 50 spring units have also been provided by China. Whenever Pakistan requested assistance, China acted swiftly.
Lt. Gen. Mohammad Afzal said that China also provided assistance for the eradication of locusts while Turkey, Japan, and other countries also provided assistance to us.
He said that coronavirus disease was spreading again in some countries but locust heart and coronavirus were declining rapidly in Pakistan.

The chairman said that the NDMA and the government would not disappoint the people and would carry out relief operations in the light of court orders.
It may be recalled that in the encroachment case in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry yesterday, the Chief Justice directed the NDMA to eliminate encroachments from Karachi drains.
The commissioner appeared in the Karachi court and said that the NDMA not only cleaned three drains in Karachi but also some blocked drains. There are 38 major drains in the city.
