WASHINGTON: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide has exceeded 20,524,848.
According to the latest data, the pandemic has so far claimed over 745,954 lives and 13,445,734 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
The United States tops with nearly 5,305,957 cases and more than 167,749 deaths followed by Brazil with over 3,112,393 cases and more than 103,099 deaths.
India has reported 2,328,405 cases while 46,188 deaths due to the coronavirus. The country has the third-highest number of recorded infections in the world.
Over 897,599 people have infected while 15,131 people died of the virus in Russia. South Africa has become one of the top five worst-hit countries in the coronavirus pandemic as the country reported over 566,109 infections. The country reported 10,751 deaths.
Spain has recorded 28,581 fatalities and 373,692 infections. Meanwhile, the death toll is 18,800 in Iran as a confirmed number of cases is almost 331,189.
The United Kingdom has reported 46,628 fatalities and 312,789 infections. Saudi Arabia has reported 291,468 cases of coronavirus, while 3,233 coronavirus deaths have been reported.
Italy, which recorded its first coronavirus death at the end of February, has 35,215 fatalities, while 251,237 infections. Turkey reported 243,180 coronavirus cases and 5,873 fatalities.
Germany has reported 9,268 deaths and 219,530 infections. France has reported 30,354 deaths and 204,172 cases.
Canada reported 8,991 fatalities and 120,421 infections due to coronavirus. Israel has reported 86,593 coronavirus cases while 622 deaths.
Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced that his country has developed the first vaccine fighting against the coronavirus. The country hoped to launch mass production within weeks and turn out several million doses per month by next year.
