Govt allowing Nawaz to travel abroad is big step: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry has said that the use of technology in court proceedings is a welcoming sign.
On a social media website Twitter, the minister further said, an accountability court is going to indict former president Asif Ali Zardari in a graft case via video link tomorrow.
Fawad Chaudhry questioned, “Why technology is not being used to hear cases against the former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif who is in London”?
Nawaz Sharif should join the trial proceedings via video link and cases against the ex-premier should be heard at once, he added.

Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and other accused are facing charges of corruption through fake bank accounts and embezzlement in the financial facility for Park Lane Private Limited and Parthenon (Pvt) Limited.
The Park Lane case is being probed under different sections of the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO) 1999, and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2010, over Zardari’s alleged involvement in a loan and its misappropriation by Parthenon Private Limited.
Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry had said that the Ministry of Science and Technology adopted ‘Made in Pakistan’ projects under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The minister said the aim of the government is to turn Pakistan into a technological superpower within the next 10 years.
Fawad Chaudhry had invited international companies to invest in Pakistan and assured them of a competitive environment.
“I call upon multinationals of USA, China, Russia, Korea, Japan, and EU to join hands with us. He said Pakistan ensures the most competitive environment and most relaxed tax structure for tech business our doors are open. 66 percent of the world population lives in a 4-hour flight radius of Pak,” he added.
