KARACHI: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 279,784 in the country, while the death toll stands at 6,052.
Another 21 people died of coronavirus in Pakistan, around, 727 new cases were reported. while 256,058 patients of coronavirus have recovered across the country.
The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is declining rapidly and according to the data released by the National Command and Operational Center, the number of active corona cases in the country is currently 20,886.
At least 15,000 coronavirus tests were performed in the last 24 hours. A total of 2,043,870 COVID-19 tests have been performed across the country.
The number of corona patients in Sindh has risen to 122,273, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 34,359. There are 11,793 patients in Balochistan, 15,141 in Islamabad, 2,116 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 2,234 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 93,847 in Punjab.

The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,162 in Punjab, 2,245 in Sindh, 1,215 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 167 in Islamabad, 136 in Balochistan, 55 in Azad Kashmir and 55 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Moreover, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar had said dine-in restaurants and beauty salons would reopen across Pakistan on August 10, as efforts against the coronavirus pandemic seemed to be bearing fruit.
He also mentioned that all the educational institutions would be opened on 15th September after a final review by the Ministry of Education on 7th September.
