ISLAMABAD: A district magistrate of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has ordered to vacate 1,717 kanals land occupied by various land grabbers.
This includes land occupied by notorious gangster Imtiaz Ali alias Taji Khokhar, who is involved in several incidents of land grabbing, extortion and other criminal activities.
According to a notification by Deputy Commissioner ICT, the Assistant Commissioner Saddar and tehsildar have ordered to vacate the lands by 15th August.
The lands are located in Sector 4 and 5 in the area of Koral, Sihala, and Barakahu which have been occupied for several years.
Taji Khokhar’s name was already on the fourth schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and action against him if the prerogative of the district administration.
ICT has also has seized/frozen the properties against the names of persons included in Schedule IV with immediate effect, said the notification by the office of Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad.
Under the order of ICT, a total land measuring 1717 kanal and 27 marlas would be seized with immediate effect that includes 663 kanal of land owned by Taji Khokhar in Koral while the remaining land is occupied by various others.
The Interior Ministry has reportedly instructed the district administration to take action against the culprits under Fourth Schedule without any hindrances.
Several government organisations including NACTA as well as housing societies are under increasing political pressure to not take any action against the suspects.
