KARACHI: The district police have launched a crackdown against the land mafia operating in the metropolis by arresting three land grabbers involved in occupying lands.
According to details, the police arrested the three accused near Sharafi Goth, where they were illegally constructing a building, while one of their accomplices Haji Nazir managed to escape.
In this regard, a police official informed that the action has been taken against illegal occupations and constructions on the instructions of SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur. “Under the instructions, illegal constructions and occupations will not be allowed anywhere,” he added.
Separate cases have been registered against the accused while further investigation was on. The arrested suspects have been identified as Munawar, Javed, and Sudhir.
Earlier today, the district police arrested three members of a gang, along with the leader in Karachi. The arrested suspects were allegedly involved in more than 30 cases, including attacks on police.
According to details, the police had arrested the culprits in Ibrahim Hyderi district of Karachi. The police have seized heavy weapons including grenades from the suspects’ possession.
In this regard, SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said that the police took targeted action on a tip-off. SSP Malir further said that the arrested accused was involved in dozens of robberies, including attacks on police.
