ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet today (Tuesday) has approved the formation of a commission to investigate the petrol crisis in the country.
Prime Minister Imran Khan presided the federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad. The cabinet discussed the 13-point agenda and overall political and economic situation in the country.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister vowed to take action against the responsible for the petrol crisis in the country. The premier further said that the appointment of the head and members of the Inquiry Commission into the petroleum crisis would be made soon.
PM Imran directed the concerned authorities to take action against the sugar mafia and to ensure government fixed rate across the country. The cabinet also approved the import of 1 million tonnes of wheat.
The federal cabinet also approved PIA s charter license, renewal of aerial work, and bill for the protection of domestic workers in Islamabad. The members were also briefed on dues of media houses. A discussion was also held on institutional reforms report during the meeting.
A draft of rules and regulations for the appointment of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman and members were also presented for suggestions.
It is worth mentioning here that the oil crisis surfaced across the country in the month of July after the PTI-led federal government announced a significant cut in petroleum prices.
