ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza has said that Pakistan reported the lowest number of COVID-19 deaths in the last three months.
In a tweet, Dr. Zafar Mirza wrote that Pakistan recorded 20 Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, the lowest number of fatalities since May.

“Today, Alhamdolilah, we have the lowest number of deaths in Pakistan due to COVID-19 in the last 3 months. We had a peak of 153 deaths on 20 June and in the last 24 hours we had 20,” Mirza wrote in a tweet.
He further stated that it was an 87 percent reduction in COVID-19 related deaths, but warned that there was no room for complacency.

According to the SAPM, this is a 87 percent reduction in COVID-19 related deaths. “Yet no place for any complacency!”, he added.
However, earlier on Sunday, Dr. Zafar Mirza warned that the coronavirus infections could spike again in the country. He informed that the coronavirus trend in other countries had shown that there could be a spike in cases again. “Countries like Spain, Iran, and United States had witnessed a resurgence in cases,” he added.
