LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar On Monday said that the spread of the coronavirus has reduced due to far-sighted measures taken by the government.
Usman Buzdar in a statement said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s smart lockdown policy has been successful and today the world is also appreciating the steps taken by the premier.
He said that the best results of the smart lockdown were emerging in the country and the number of patients in hospitals had come down significantly. The Punjab chief minister said the government’s far-sighted measures have reduced the spread of coronavirus.

He appealed the people to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with simplicity and adhere to SOPs in the context of coronavirus. On Sunday, Buzdar approved smart lockdown across the province on the occasion of Eid.
In a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Punjab Jawad Rafique, it was decided that the smart lockdown would be carried out abruptly instead of announcing in advance, while markets and plazas across the province would be closed a day or two before Eid.
Livestock markets, utility stores, milk, yogurt, oven, and medical stores will remain open during the smart lockdown. According to Civil Secretariat sources, notification of smart lockdown can be issued at any time.
