ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto has strongly criticized PTI-led federal government and called general elections of 2018 a ‘selection’.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad today (Saturday), Bilawal Bhutto said that the 2018 polls have damaged the country more than any other event in its history that saw Prime Minister Imran Khan coming into power.
“On this day, a selection was held which has caused great damage to the country and undermined its democratic system,” he criticized the PTI government, which is celebrating its landmark victory in the general elections.
The PPP Chairman pointed out the irregularities during the 2018 polls and questioned why security personnel was deployed inside the polling stations. “Never in history was such a step taken. Not even during the general elections 2008 when terrorism was at its peak in the country,” he added.
He further said that the incompetent Prime Minister has failed to fulfill his promises of making Pakistan a corruption-free country. “Today, the entire nation is on one page that ‘selected’ Imran Khan has to go. He has destroyed the democracy and economy,” he remarked.
Referring to newly-introduced ordinance related to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, Bilawal said that the premier was supposed to become an ambassador of Kashmir but he has become an advocate of Kulbhushan Jadhav.
Earlier on Friday, Federal Law and Justice Minister Farogh Naseem had urged the opposition parties not to create hurdles in the passing of an ordinance meant to allow Jadhav to file a review appeal against his conviction.
