PLAYER Unknown’s Battlegrounds, popularly known as PUBG, is a popular online game made by a South Korean firm Bluehole inc, which has become very popular with hundreds of millions of people particularly students.
PTA temporarily suspended PUBG
The internationally renowned video game Player Unknown’s Battleground (PUBG) had been temporarily banned in Pakistan by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority PTA on the first of July.
The reason stated behind the whole scenario is that four teenage boys committed suicide over not being permitted to play the game and another young person dying while playing the game.
The authority also said it had received several complaints about the game being “addictive”, a waste of time and its potential negative impact on children’s physical and psychological health.
The whole country is split up according to their own personal opinions. Many believe that this was done greatly in the favor of the nation while others have to say that this was a horrific decision that will soon lead to seriously dire consequences for everyone.
Health issues due to PUBG
The most popular smartphone game in the world, the PUBG is affecting the mental health of the children and youth.
The World Health Organisation in 2018 declared gaming addiction as a mental health disorder. Addiction to video games increases depression and anxiety levels.

The deaths that are acclaimed as being due to PUBG have not been properly investigated by the forensic authorities.
In fact, the suicides are a very sad event but the mental health of those children was not monitored by their patients, or else this could have been avoided.
The other case of death is very vaguely attached to Unbanning PUBG. There could have been many other medical or drug-related reasons for that mortality.
The sadness of these deaths cannot be overshadowed but the true reasons behind those must be brought to the public.
IHC orders PTA to lift PUBG ban
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to unban online game PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG).
According to details, the IHC Justice Amir Farooq nullified the decision of the PTA regarding the ban on PUBG and has ordered to unban the online gaming app.
The court remarked that the PUBG game should be restored immediately while issuing directions to PTA in a detailed decision.
IHC on 14th July reserved its verdict on a petition against the ban on popular online game PUBG.
During the last hearing, the PTA lawyer said that it contained some anti-Islamic material that led to the ban. The court asked where the un-Islamic material was written in the meeting minutes.
Online gamers thank Waqar Zaka
Gamers have thanked renowned social media influencer Waqar Zaka after the Islamabad High Court ordered to unban online game PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG).
People have not stopped thanking Zaka for taking the step towards listing the PUBG ban. As the court’s order to lift the ban on the game came out, the trends of PUBG on social media increased.
Since the ban had been placed, people took to Twitter to drop their reactions about the government’s decision and requesting the prime minister over lifting the ban on PUBG.
Pakistan would not be the first country to ban PUBG because of its violent nature. Last year in July 2019, Jordan, China, Iraq, Nepal, and the Indian state of Gujrat banned PUBG for its possible perverse effect on its citizens.
