ISLAMABAD: Users have shown displeasure over Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)’s decision to maintain the ban on online game PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG).
Earlier today, as per the PTA’s tweet, the authority decided to continue the ban on the game and refused to lift it.
Press Release: PTA has decided that online game Players’ Unknown Battle Ground (PUBG) remains blocked. The decision has been made by the Authority after a detailed hearing conducted in PTA on July 9 on the directions of the Lahore High Court.

Many social media users on Twitter have been criticising the ban on PUBG in different ways. People have started asking the IT Minister to resign from his designation. Meanwhile, ‘Unban PUBG in Pakistan’ has become another top trend on Twitter.
Social media users have sent more than 18,000 messages under both the top trends, saying that the federal government must take action to lift the ban on the PUBG. Some users are blaming the ban on the game for the country’s economy too.

It may be noted that earlier this month, PTA has decided to temporarily ban online game PUBG in the country. A PTA spokesman had said that a decision to permanently ban the PUBG would be made after consultations. “We have received many complaints regarding the game,” he said adding that complaints termed the game as a waste of time and further claimed that it was causing a negative impact on the children.
