LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that left-arm Pakistani pacer Muhammad Amir will join the national team in England after his second coronavirus test also came back negative.
According to details, Muhammad Amir and masseuse Muhammad Imran both tested negative for the coronavirus twice. “The first test was conducted on July 21. He is now eligible to travel to England to join national squad,” a PCB spokesperson said.
The PCB spokesperson further said, “We have started making a travel plan for both Muhammad Amir masseuse Muhammad Imran and details will soon be shared.”
Meanwhile, the departure of Shoaib Malik to England has been delayed until the second week of August after India extended the ban on international flights until 31 July, which, in turn, has delayed a planned family reunion.
Earlier on Monday, The Pakistan Cricket Board announced that Muhammad Amir will join the Pakistan squad following the birth of his second daughter last week. Upon their arrival in England, reserve wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir will be released.
The Pakistan cricket team is currently in England where they will play three Tests and as many T20Is. The opening Test will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester from August 5-9.
