FAISALABAD: A government hospital in Faisalabad, named Ghulam Muhammad Abad Hospital has been declared coronavirus-free today (Monday) after four months.
According to details, the government hospital has reported zero coronavirus patients today (Monday) for the first time after four months. In this regard, the hospital administration has now resumed its services for other patients.
Earlier in March, the hospital closed its OPDs and wards for patients and was only treating coronavirus patients. The first coronavirus patient was brought in on March 23.
Almost 72 patients also lost their lives at the hospital. More than 3,000 people have been screened at the hospital. According to the district administration, the coronavirus tally of Faisalabad has declined by 70 percent due to the smart lockdown strategy.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan is among those fortunate countries in the world where the COVID-19 cases in hospitals, particularly in intensive care units, have declined and the death rate has also decreased.
PM Imran credited his government’s smart lockdown strategy with the decline in COVID-19 cases and said that it was also due to the people observing the safety protocols to curb the spread of the infection.
