KARACHI: Another frontline doctor Dr. Adnan Omar, who was treating patients at Karachi’s Lyari General Hospital has succumbed to coronavirus today (Saturday).
According to the Sindh Health Department, the doctor contracted coronavirus a few days ago and died of it today (Saturday). The deceased doctor’s brother is also being treated for COVID-19 at a private hospital.
The health department further informed that other people including the wife of the late doctor are also undergoing tests for the presence of the deadly virus.
The provincial health department informed that the number of doctors dying from coronavirus has risen to 25 across Sindh. National Health Ministry informed that around 70 healthcare workers have succumbed to the virus in the line of duty.
It is pertinent to mention here that almost 1952 people have died from coronavirus in the province so far while the number of infected patients has crossed one lakh.
