RAWALPINDI: At least two soldiers of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) have martyred and another six wounded in an attack lodged by terrorists in Mashkel district of Balochistan
According to details, the raiding team of ANF was returning to headquarters after seizing a huge quantity of narcotics. Later a group of 50-60 assailants attacked the ANF team.
In this regard, the ANF spokesperson informed that two officials were martyred and six were critically injured. In the incident, two vehicles were completely destroyed.
The ANF spokesperson further informed that the soldiers were engaged in a fierce armed battle for 3.5 hours. “However, the assailants managed to flee from the scene after the arrival of contingents of Frontier Corps (FC),” the spokesperson added.
After the incident, the Director-General Anti-Narcotics Force (DG-ANF) took notice of the incident and ordered strict action against the accused persons.
Earlier on July 16, Intelligence-Wing of ANF, Quetta chapter during different efforts collectively had seized 834 kg drugs and detained seven drug pushers.
