KARACHI: The weather has turned pleasant with rain in different parts of the country including the Sindh’s capital.
A light drizzle was reported in areas of Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Liaquatabad, and other areas. Along with the rains, power supply was also suspended in most parts of the country, causing severe problems to the citizens.
Six people, including three minors, died while two others were injured in rain-related incidents in Karachi as this year’s first spell of monsoon rainfall battered the metropolis. A three-year-old girl died after the wall of her home collapsed in Malir’s Shamsi society, a spokesperson for the Edhi Foundation said.

Separately, a 70-year-old woman died in a similar incident in Liaquatabad’s Angara Goth, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Police Surgeon Dr. Muhammad Saleem said. The body was brought to the hospital for completing legal formalities.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the hot and humid weather will prevail during the day with the maximum temperature expected to rise to 37 degrees Celsius.
The weather will remain hot and humid in most parts of the country today. However, showers with thundershowers are expected in Lower Sindh, Northeastern Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
