KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to further reduced the fare for domestic flights on Tuesday.
A spokesman for the PIA said there had been a historic reduction in domestic fares. According to the spokesperson, the one-way fare from Karachi to Islamabad and from Karachi to Lahore has been fixed at Rs 9,572 while passengers will also be permitted to carry 7 kg of hand luggage.

The discounted fares would be effective immediately, the spokesperson added. This is the second such announcement as only Last week, the officials of the PIA, announced a reduction of fares for domestic flights.
According to a notification, Rs 12, 000 has been fixed for one-way ticket inclusive of all taxes for different destinations including Islamabad and other cities.
On May 17, the PIA had announced that all airlines operating domestic flights from Pakistan airports will be charging similar fares.
Giving the details amid speculations over increased fares charged from airlines for special domestic flights, an official from PIA had said that a one-way ticket of any Lahore or Islamabad-bound flight from Karachi would cost Rs 22,826 including all taxes and Rs22, 108 for the one-way ticket of a Peshawar-bound flight from Karachi.
One way ticket of Quetta-bound flight from Karachi or Islamabad or Lahore-bound flights from Quetta would cost Rs 14,448.
Earlier, addressing a meeting in Islamabad, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari had said airfare for the UAE- bound special flights had been reduced by 20 to 30 percent and would come into effect from tomorrow.
He said it is the government’s top priority to ensure the repatriation of all those people who stranded in UAE, adding that the government has increased the capacity to repatriate 2, 000 people per week to 6,000.
Zulfikar Bukhari further said the tickets for UAE to Multan and Karachi will be available at 957 Dirhams and 810 Dirhams, respectively. The airfare for the flights operating from UAE to Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar had been reduced to 1,110 Dirhams.
