LAHORE: Three more players are eligible to join the Pakistan men’s national cricket team in Worcester following testing negative twice for COVID-19 in four days.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), rookie batsman Haider Ali, pacer Imran Khan and spinner Kashif Bhatti are set to travel to England, after twice testing negative for coronavirus.
Masseur Malang Ali and Mohammad Imran have also tested negative for the virus and will be travelling with the trio to England.
The trio tested positive twice in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s initial testing phase, which is why they were not sent with the advance group. In the tests conducted later, all three tested negative twice.
The cricket board is now making arrangements for their departure to England. It is likely that a private airline company will be used instead of the Pakistan International Airlines due to travel restrictions.
The national team left for England on June 28. According to the schedules, Pakistan will play three test matches and three Twenty20 Internationals. The first Test will be played on August 5 in Manchester.
Earlier on July 3, six Pakistani cricket team players reached England, after clearing the COVID-19 test twice. The players include Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Wahab Riaz.
