ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has arrested three suspects involved in ‘child pornography’ in a countrywide crackdown.
According to the FIA’s cybercrime wing, the action has been carried out upon the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The agency had produced them before the prevention of cybercrime courts and obtained their three-day physical remand.
The three suspects were arrested from Lahore, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala. The Cyber Crime also recovered pornographic material, photographs, and other devices from their possession. FIA has registered the case against them under various sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act and the Pakistan Penal Code.
A senior FIA official informed that the suspects were alleged members of pornographic websites. “The suspects are arrested with the active support of Interpol and international law enforcement agencies,” he added.
The official further said that in the past, the FIA used to arrest the suspects on the complaints of local people. However, he said, this time the FIA itself initiated the probe and contacted the Interpol to trace the suspects.
He also claimed that the suspects share pornographic material with international pornographic websites and also in local WhatsApp groups.
