KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced to make public the Joint Investigation Reports (JIT) of Uzair Baloch, Baldia Factory fire, and Nisar Murai, former chairman of Fishermen’s Cooperative Society.
Addressing a press conference today (Friday) alongside Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, spokesman Murtaza Wahab said that all the three JIT reports will be published on the Home Department’s website on Monday.
Murtaza Wahab claimed that there was nothing against the PPP leadership in Uzair Baloch’s JIT report. “Uzair Baloch’s JIT report does not mention Asif Ali Zardari or Faryal Talpur’s name,” he added.
The provincial spokesperson said, “PTI’s only job is to make accusations against the people. Performance of Ali Zaidi as the Minister of Maritime Affairs is also in front of everyone.”
He further said that the propaganda that the federal government has been doing on JIT reports was completely baseless and mere political point-scoring. “Ali Zaidi should resign for lying on the floor of the House,” he added.
“I challenge Ali Zaidi to show the PPP leadership’s names in the JIT reports. These reports are not made by Pakistan People’s Party but by institutions,” he remarked.
It is worth mention here that Ali Zaidi had filed a contempt of court case against Chief Secretary Sindh for not making public the JIT reports of Baldia tragedy, Uzair Baloch, and PPP leader Nisar Murai. The petition was filed.
The petition contended that the Sindh High Court had in January ordered the publication of the reports of the three major JITs, but despite the court order, the Chief Secretary Sindh did not make the three reports public.
