KARACHI: The coronavirus recoveries in Pakistan are now above 100,000, while the number of total confirmed cases has passed 217,000.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 217,809 in the country, while the death toll stands at 4,473. According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 4,339 cases of coronavirus were reported while 78 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
As many as 104,694 patients have recovered from the disease, while the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
According to official statistics, Pakistan, which recorded over 130,000 COVID-19 cases in June alone, has conducted more than 1.3 million tests so far.

Islamabad has imposed locality-based lockdowns in scores of hotspots in some 20 cities to curb the spread of the virus. Moreover, the smart-lockdown imposed across Sindh was extended till 15th July, following its Punjab and Balochistan counterparts as the number of coronavirus cases shoot up in the country.
Out of the total number of infections, Sindh reported 86,795, around 77,740 cases in Punjab, 26,938 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10,608 in Balochistan, 13,082 Islamabad, 1,511 in Gilgit Baltistan and 1,135 in Azad Kashmir.
Out of a total of 4,473 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 973 deaths, Sindh 1,406, Balochistan 121, Gilgit-Baltistan 28, Punjab 1,784, Azad Kashmir 32 and Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 129 death.
