KARACHI: Intermittent rains are continuing in different cities of the country due to which the heatwave has broken.
Intermittent rain brought the mercury down and provided much-needed relief to the citizens from persistent hot weather.
Heavy downpour in different areas inundated roads and streets in the provincial capital of Lahore and residence faced immense difficulties as rainwater entered houses in low lying areas.
Rain with gusty winds was also reported from Islamabad, Nathiagali, Murree, Faisalabad, Shahkot, Bhakkar, Wazirabad, Chicha Watni, and their adjoining areas.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain wind-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas.

Additionally, hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country. The temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:
Islamabad and Quetta twenty-two degree centigrade, Lahore twenty-eight, Karachi thirty-one, Peshawar twenty-seven, Murree seventeen, Gilgit fourteen, and Muzaffarabad nineteen degree centigrade.
