FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Cell today (Sunday) has arrested a gang in Islamabad for defrauding people.
According to details, the FIA officials received information regarding online frauds. Upon receiving information, the FIA team conducted a raid on a house and arrested the suspects.
FIA Cybercrime Cell officials informed that several digital devices were recovered from their possessions. “Numerous mobile phones, biometric devices, 40 fake thumb machines, 16 active and 62 inactive SIMs were recovered,” the officials added.
The officials further informed that the group was defrauding people on the name of ‘Kon Banega Crore Pati (Who Will Become a Millionaire).
Director Cybercrime Wing Waqar Chauhan has appreciated the team to take timely action against the scammers. Director Cybercrime informed that a case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of fraud and cybercrime.
Earlier on June 27, the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing Lahore in a targeted operation apprehended two wanted criminals involved in a bank robbery in the United States.
Director FIA Abdur Rab in a press conference said that FIA Cyber Crime Wing Lahore conducted a major operation on intelligence reports, during which two Pakistanis who robbed a bank in the United States were apprehended.
