ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government can complete its five-year tenure easily if he compromised with the opposition parties.
Addressing the ceremony at his Bani Gala residence today (Sunday), PM Imran said that the novel coronavirus has affected the country’s economy.
The Prime Minister also criticised Pakistan People’s Party and said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s party has destroyed itself by moving away from its ideology, adding that his party, however, is standing with its ideology and will always stand by it.
PM Imran further revealed that he was under immense pressure to hide the sugar inquiry report but he chose to publish it. “A former military dictator failed to make public inquiry reports into sugar crises twice in his government because of the pressure,” he added.
The premier met coalition partners and listened to their demands and reservations. PM Khan also took the partners into confidence over the budget 2020-21.
PM Imran had invited the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its coalition parties’ lawmakers to Bani Gala for a dinner. The purpose of the dinner was to ensure the presence of MNAs of the ruling party and its allies in the National Assembly where PTI’s budget 2020-21 is pending approval.
The MQM, JWP, and GDA attended the dinner Khan but PML-Q leaders declined due to “party meetings”. Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed didn’t attend the dinner because of his health issues.
