ISLAMABAD: The federal police have allegedly received a bribe in order to suppress the murder case of a 40-year-old day labourer, Tariq, working in Tayyaba Steel Mill, Islamabad.
According to details, the federal police have not yet taken action in this regard, despite orders from Industrial Area SP Sheikh Zubair. The owner of the factory, Farrukh Irfan, is accused of murdering the labourer.
Sources informed that Homicide Unit Inspector Ashiq Shah had allegedly received a huge amount of bribe to suppress the murder investigation. No action has been taken against the inspector for negligence in the murder case.
Earlier on June 26, the 40-year-old labourer had a quarrel with the factory officials and was beaten with a steel bar. The injured labourer was shifted to PIMS Hospital, Islamabad in critical condition, where he died.
Inspector Ashiq Shah sent Tariq’s body to his hometown without informing the concerned magistrate, after which the matter became suspicious. The police didn’t interrogate the factory owner in this regard nor the other employees of the factory.
