MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Friday) has launched Ehsaas Cash Emergency Programme in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in order to provide relief to the people.
Addressing a ceremony in this regard, PM Imran also announced the distribution of health cards among 1.2 million people which would enable them to avail treatment of up to Rs1 million free of charge. AJK President Sardar Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider were also present during the occasion.
The Prime Minister informed that the cash package worth Rs 3 billion will benefit 138,000 families of AJK. “I am grateful today that we have been given an opportunity to help the people living around LoC braving hardships due to cross border firing,” he added.
Commenting on the ongoing atrocities by India, PM Imran said that the Modi-led Indian extremist government has intensified its atrocities on people of Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
“Use of pallet guns, abduction of youth, mass graves and other heinous crimes are increasing in the region,” he added. The premier further said that the atrocities on the people of IoK were being perpetrated in a systematic way.
He also said, “Hands of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are strained with the blood of Muslims in India,” adding that the Indian government was following the ideology of RSS that was inspired by the violent and racist ideology of Nazism.
The premier said that the Hindutva mentality of the Indian government considers minorities as low class, and this thinking will ultimately lead to the destruction of India. He also pointed out that he highlighted the plight of Kashmiris at international forums.
Referring to the federal budget, PM Imran said that despite the ongoing coronavirus situation, the federal government has increased the budget of AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, and merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
