LAHORE: The School Education Department of Punjab has decided to reopen schools across the province.
The department started work on developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)s and suggestions for reopening of schools. It will be suggested to allow students of matric to go to schools in the first phase.
According to details, it has been proposed to limit the school hours to just three with faculty only teaching compulsory subjects. In the second phase, opening schools for students of eighth to fifth grade will be considered.
The School Education Department has also sought suggestions from private schools by tomorrow.
The school education department has also sought proposals from private schools for which private schools have been divided into two categories. Schools receiving less than 4,000 and more than 4,000 fees have been divided into two categories.
Schools of the two categories have been directed to submit SOPs by tomorrow.
It is pertinent to remember that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 185,034 in the country on Tuesday, while the death toll stands at 3695.
According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 3,946 cases of coronavirus were reported while 105 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
As many as 73,471 patients have recovered from the disease, while the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
